New malaria report gives us hope

Editor, The recently released Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) report which shows a significant decline in malaria incidences in the country makes all Rwandans proud.  I also believe the decrease hinges on several measures taken by the Ministry of Health including the distribution of mosquito nets throughout the country and massive sensitisation to the residents especially those living in rural areas.

Editor,

The recently released Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) report which shows a significant decline in malaria incidences in the country makes all Rwandans proud.

I also believe the decrease hinges on several measures taken by the Ministry of Health including the distribution of mosquito nets throughout the country and massive sensitisation to the residents especially those living in rural areas.

I congratulate the Ministry of Health for its relentless campaign to fight malaria in the country.

Like the new report indicated, the campaign to provide Rwandans with mosquito nets is a noble deed. However, health officials should keep informing the public about the best control and preventive measures in a bid to eradicate malaria completely.
