Editor,

A number of youth-related events have been reported in the media of late. There was the Itorero, Awards ceremonies, new vocational institutions and with schools opening, there is a lot of buzz. Through your paper, I would like to call on parents to constantly monitor their children. They have a lot of responsibilities as the future of this country.

Early pregnancies, alcohol addiction, HIV/AIDS are all risks they face, but with proper guidance from the parents and teachers, I have no doubt that they will stay the course and turn out to be responsible and hard working citizens.
