The visiting Sierra Leonean Chief Justice, Umu Hawa Tejan Jalloh, on Wednesday visited the Commercial Court of Musanze, as part of the delegation’s study tour

Upon her arrival, the Chief Justice, was received by the local authorities,  and the president of the Commercial Court-Musanze, Christine Kanyamibwa, before she toured the court’s building which is shared by the intermediate court.

In her remarks, Jalloh commended Rwanda’s best practices regarding institutional building, justice system and women representation in judicial institutions.

"We shall go back with fond memories, about what we have seen in this country, The commitment and the humility with which your leaders serve is impressive,” Jalloh said.

She praised Rwanda’s women leaders for the humility and zeal they exhibit while executing their duties and the men who support to them.

"The progress here is being talked about everywhere, that is why we came here to learn,” Jalloh said.

 "We want to protect our investors and create a convenient business environment, the way it has been done here”.

Judge Kanyamibwa said that since the setting up of the court, the backlog of cases had reduced.

"In 2009, of the 474 cases filed, 336 were disposed off, while in 2010, of 546 cases 431 were dealt with. There has been a speedy process of settling commercial cases,” Kanyamibwa said.
