Alpha Rwirangira, on Monday, received a hero’s welcome as he emerged from the arrivals terminal of the Kigali International Airport.

His fans anxiously waited to welcome him home from the just concluded Tusker All Stars held in Nairobi, Kenya. The competition started on June 26 and the grand finale was staged on August 14.

Sunday night was a rapturous moment, when Rwandans joined million others in the rest of East Africa’s living rooms to witness Alpha Rwirangira (Rwanda), Davis Ntare (Uganda) and Peter Msechu (Tanzania) emerge winners of the Tusker All Stars.

The trio won themselves the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share a stage with international artistes; Usher Raymond and Keri Hilson at the "Tusker All Stars Concert” to be held at the Carnivore Grounds, this Saturday.

Other contestants were: Bernard Nganga popularly known as 'Ng'ang'alito', Patricia Kihoro and Amileena Mwenesi (Kenya), Hemedy Suleiman (Tanzania), and Caroline Nabulime (Uganda).

This is not the first time Alpha has won the Tusker music competitions. In 2009, he emerged winner of Tusker Project Fame Season 3, walking away with Kshs.5million (about Rfw35 million), not to mention a one year recording contract with South Africa’s Gallo Records.
