Players Abroad: Byiringiro makes Sandviken debut

With the majority of players having already left for the international break, it was not an off weekend for those who were not called up as a host of Rwandan players playing abroad putting up mixed performances at club level.

Lague Byiringiro played his first game for Sandviken IF in Sweden as PSV Eindhoven teenager Johan Bakayoko also continued his impressive form in the Netherlands.

Times Sport brings to you a wrap up of performances of Rwandan players abroad.

Sweden

Lague Byiringiro made his unofficial debut for Sandviken IF as he was given a starting berth during the club's 2-2 friendly draw with Piteå IF on Sunday. Striker Kalebo Wimbabazi, who was born to Rwandan parents, also featured for Pitea whereas Yannick Mukunzi was on the Sandviken bench.

England

Noam Emeran was replaced by Thomas Andrew Huddlestone in the 27th minute as Manchester United U21 were humiliated 6-0 by Manchester City in the Premier League 2 derby at the Academy Stadium on Sunday.

In the London derby of the same division, George Lewis Ishimwe was not in the Arsenal U21 squad which lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace.

Belgium

Central midfielder Samuel Gueulette was in action for Raal La Louviere in the third tier as they lost 1-0 to URSL Vise.

Netherlands

Teenager Johan Bakayoko replaced El Ghazi in the 46th minute and changed the phase of the game as PSV went to the GelreDome Stadium to draw 1-1 with Vitesse Arnheim.

France

Warren Kamanzi -played full throttle at right-back for Toulouse who lost 2-0 to Lille in a Ligue 1 clash.

Elsewhere in the French fourth tier, Irvyn Lomami was in action for the second team of Lyon who lost 2-1 to Hyeres.

Norway

Before joining Amavubi in Cotonou ahead of the Benin clash, central defender Ange Mutsinzi played the entire game for FK Jerv who lost 2-1 to Odd BK in a preseason friendly. Winger King Josias Furaha was on the bench for Jerv.

Luxembourg

Right-back Jonathan Nsanzimana did not make the Union Titus Petange squad in their 4-1 win over FC Kaerjeng.

Sven Kalisa was not part of the Etzella team that lost 5-2 to Diddeleng.
