VACESLAV Kavedzija and his guns have been craving for a strong opponent ahead of the 26th edition of the Fiba Africa championship in Antananarivo city in Madagascar and now their prayers have been answered.

Rwanda will play African champions Angola in a build-up match tomorrow and Kavedzija says that the timing could not be better.

"Angola are the defending champions and definitely the team to beat in the competition so I believe this is a good test for the team,” he said.

Angola are fresh from an international tournament in Guangzhou, China were they finished third after losing to the hosts 54-62.

Rwanda is in group D alongside Tunisia, Togo and Central African Republic (CAR). Hosts Madagascar are drawn in group A alongside Mozambique, Nigeria and Mali; Group B pits Angola against Senegal, Morocco and Chad while group C consists of Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa, Cameroon and Egypt.

Rwanda qualified for the tournament after clinching the Zone V championship title in February.
