Regional integration should involve sharing of best practices

Editor,

As the integration process of the East African community gains momentum, I would like to urge the member states to share best practices in the various fields.

For instance if one country has developed favorable mechanisms to fight corruption, the others can learn from the strategy.

I acknowledge that not all practices may apply considering that the five countries have different back grounds and contexts, however, the challenges faced by developing countries tend to be similar.

As various meetings are conducted to advance the integration policies, the participants should look into various national policies and practices, so that they best ones can be shared for the good of the people and the community.
