Women league for December, Rwf25.9m needed

THE national women soccer league has been penciled to start in December, according to the Head of women football in the country, Felicite Rwemalika.Nine clubs including APR, Inyemera, Remera, Rubavu, Musanze, AS Kigali, Bugesera and Les Lionnes and UNR are expected to take part in the nine- month league.

THE national women soccer league has been penciled to start in December, according to the Head of women football in the country, Felicite Rwemalika.

Nine clubs including APR, Inyemera, Remera, Rubavu, Musanze, AS Kigali, Bugesera and Les Lionnes and UNR are expected to take part in the nine- month league.

Rwemalika also revealed that Rwf25.9m is needed for the smooth running of the league. Last season, AS Kigali defended their title after beating off stiff competition from APR.

The women football league started in 2008 and AS Kigali has won the league thrice, while archrivals APR have won it once, during the inaugural season.
