Editor,

What better headline could I read in your newspaper , Sunday Times, August, 7 than that of the "Indian community in Rwanda in a blood donation drive”?

Kudos to the Indians in this beautiful country on being the first foreign community to donate blood , according to Dr.Peter Kimenyi , Regional Head for the National Centre for Blood Transfusion Services ( NCBT ).

India and Rwanda have a long standing history of co-operation.  A social service program such as the blood donation drive will go a long way in further enhancing not just trade, commerce and tourism between our two great nations, but also strengthening social and cultural bonds between the two countries.

My sincere appreciation and congratulations to Dinesh Kalyan, Chairman, Indian Association of Rwanda (INAR), his dynamic committee, and to all those who showed their support and solidarity towards this noble cause and great initiative.
