EMMANUEL Ruterana and Jean Baptiste Hakizimana depart for Mombasa this Sunday ahead of next week’s KCB East African Golf tour-Mombasa leg which will be held at the Par-72 Nyali golf course.

After failing to make the cut in last year’s edition, the pair is determined to finish in the top five especially after receiving a sponsorship boost from Serena Kigali Hotel.

"Last year, the conditions were tough. It was hard to play shots amidst heavy rains and strong winds but word from Mombasa is that it is hot,” Hakizimana said.

Over 50 professional golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are expected to compete in the Rwf8m tournament bankrolled by Kenya Commercial Bank.

The four-day tourney will tee-off next Wednesday.
