AMAVUBI’s controversial striker Bokota Labama is in Kigali to finalize a two-year deal with his former club Rayon Sport.

The 28-year-old is eager to make a u-turn after his one-year stint during the 2007-2008 season but it remains unclear if the blues faithful will embrace him following his controversial move to APR three years ago.

The player swapped his Rayon jersey for APR but his career at the army side was short-lived following a one-year ban by the local football governing body (Ferwafa) for featuring for a Congolese side while still under contact with APR.

Despite all the controversy, Rayon head coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira is keen to tie up the striker by the end of this week.

"He has already agreed personal terms with the club which is a very good sign.”

"There is some paper work involved but we are keeping our fingers crossed and hope that everything will be resolved by the end of the week,” Ntagwabira said.

Should Bokota join, he will become the club’s sixth signing in the on-going transfer window after Fawd Ndayisenga, Idi Nshimiyimana, Eric Tuyishimire, Mbanza Hussein and Saidi Abedi Makasi.

Rayon is also reportedly monitoring the URA duo of Farouk Osama and Tom Okello.

The blues start pre-season training next Monday and are said to be lining up a friendly against Patrick Mafisango’s former Tanzanian club Azam.
