Ambassador to Germany inaugurates recreational week for Rwandan children

A recreational week for children of Rwandan origin organized by the Rwandan Diaspora Association in Germany started this Sunday, 31st, July in the city Kaub, germany.The event which brought together more than 20 children was inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Christine Nkulikiyinka, during the opening ceremony.

A recreational week for children of Rwandan origin organized by the Rwandan Diaspora Association in Germany started this Sunday, 31st, July in the city Kaub, germany.

The event which brought together more than 20 children was inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Christine Nkulikiyinka, during the opening ceremony. 

She thanked the parents for giving their children the opportunity to learn about their country of origin and to be introduced into its culture and language.  Noting that it is always important to know one’s origin which is the most determining component for identity building and pride.

The Ambassador commended the initiative of the Rwandan Diaspora of bringing the young generation closer to their home country, Rwanda.

The recreational week is the first in Germany and will last until August 5th, 2011.

The program includes traditional children games, dance and music workshops, language lessons and outdoor activities.
