IT was a forgettable outing for local swimmers at the just ended 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre, China.The country’s medal hopeful Jackson Niyomugabo finished 91st in the men’s 50m freestyle after clocking 27.73 seconds, six adrift of Brazil’s Cesar Cielo.

IT was a forgettable outing for local swimmers at the just ended 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre, China.

The country’s medal hopeful Jackson Niyomugabo finished 91st in the men’s 50m freestyle after clocking 27.73 seconds, six adrift of Brazil’s Cesar Cielo.

Patrick Rukundo finished 93rd. Alphonsine Agahozo also had nothing to show for her two-month training camp in France as she finished a distant 68th after clocking 31.41 seconds in the women’s 50m freestyle. Sweden’s Therese Alshammar won the heat stages.
