Driving while on phone causes accidents

Editor,

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) has done well in implementing laws that ensure the safety of road users. However, I appeal to police to look into a niggling issue that may as well get out of hand- motorists who drive while speaking on their mobile phones.

Recently, I boarded a motorbike from Kacyiru to Nyarutarama. While on the motorbike, the motorcyclist received a call. As we moved along, he nearly caused an accident.

This is a risky practice that often causes  fatal accidents and police and the public should work together to bring it to an end.
