Just like most Rwandan Movies, Kinyarwanda is also about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi although it includes specifics that are ignored in most films. The influence of Religion, liberation struggle and Gacaca courts is portrayed in the film. The short stories provide a panoramic view of war and reconciliation.

Na Wewe

Na Wewe is set in Africa and revolves around the genocide occurring between the Hutus and Tutsis based on the civil wars in Burundi. In the movie, a truck full of people is stopped by rebels, who demand to know everybody's origins hence portrays the need for national identity cards. Na Wewe literary means, ‘you too’.  Although its in French with English subtitles one is able to follow the storyline and understand the events in the movie.
Grey Matter

The double-act drama is about a traumatized Rwandan, Yvan (Shami Bizimana), and the sister, Justine (Ruth Shanel Nirere). Justine tries to help her brother as far as doing a blow job for a doctor who is supposed to treat Yvan. Amidst the help, Director Kivu Ruhorahoza   introduces Balthazar (Hervé Kimenyi), an intelligent, ambitious young filmmaker who's trying to raise the money to shoot film he calls ‘The Cycle of the Cockroach’.

Fabrice, a middle-class football ; Dudu, a Rwandan Aids orphan with a true sense of determination,  Beatrice is  Dudu God-loving and gentle little sister while Celeste is teenage sex worker and Foreman George a traumatized former child soldier from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
