Tetteh to be honored with ‘Order of the Volta’

AMAVUBI stars head coach Sellas Tetteh will be honored with the ‘Order of the Volta’ by the Ghanaian President Atta-Mills for guiding the Black Satellites to their first ever World Cup title two years ago. Tetteh and his players will receive the honour of the companion of the Order of the Volta, while the technical and management team will receive the grand medal.

AMAVUBI stars head coach Sellas Tetteh will be honored with the ‘Order of the Volta’ by the Ghanaian President Atta-Mills for guiding the Black Satellites to their first ever World Cup title two years ago.

Tetteh and his players will receive the honour of the companion of the Order of the Volta, while the technical and management team will receive the grand medal.

Tetteh said yesterday, "It is a privilege to receive such a distinguished honour. I thank the good Lord for the recognition of my hard work and contribution to the success of my country.”

The awards which are part of Ghana’s 51st Republic Day celebrations will also be extended to the senior national team, the Black Stars for making Ghana proud in the 2010 South Africa World Cup final.

The Black Stars equaled Africa’s record at the World Cup by making it to the quarter finals of the 2010 edition in South Africa.
