Editor,

Rwandan youth stand to gain immensely from the forthcoming Global entrepreneurship Week slated for November 14th- 20th.

The event is the world’s largest celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit which aims at changing the mindsets of young people to realise their potential through exploring ideas to make a difference in the world.

Despite this being the first time to participate, current initiatives to promote entrepreneurship especially for young people, support to SME’s and creation of a good environment for doing business, we expect international exposure which will attract more investors and projects. Secondly, the youth who make up the majority of the unemployed are likely to acquire skills, ideas and support from different organisations and companies.

In addition, I expect young people to bring out ideas that ought to be supported. We hope that GEW will bring on board service providers, bankers and other financial institutions so that the youth may learn from them.
