Big lesson from Rulindo

Editor, I thank the leadership of Rulindo District who won this year’s Imihigo best performer’s award. It is a big challenge to other districts like Nyamagabe who have won it in the past. However, I urge other districts not to give up but redouble their efforts instead. They can also consult the Rulindo leadership to pick up the formula behind their success.

Editor,

I thank the leadership of Rulindo District who won this year’s Imihigo best performer’s award. It is a big challenge to other districts like Nyamagabe who have won it in the past. However, I urge other districts not to give up but redouble their efforts instead. They can also consult the Rulindo leadership to pick up the formula behind their success.

I believe one of the reasons why Rulindo performed better than others is the fact that their strategies have a direct impact on citizens’ wellbeing.

Other districts ought to focus on issues that help ordinary citizens and also facilitate the vision 2020.

For instance, promoting education and facilitating people to access health services are very crucial, given the fact that a healthy and educated society provides meaningful contribution to society and directly participates in national development.

Rulindo serves as an example and their achievements should be consolidated.

The performance contracts initiated in 2006 have indeed led to several changes within the socio-economic spheres of our country and should be embraced by all.
