While at high school, our school mission was, “to produce women who are academically sound, morally upright, and physically capable, who are able to serve God and their country to the best of their ability.” This school mission has impacted my life greatly because I understand it better as I get older.

This school mission has impacted my life greatly because I understand it better as I get older.
As I sat on the couch at home, I thought about it and how applicable it has been to our lives as educated women.
Back in the dark days, women were only supposed to give birth, babysit children and do house chores. They were at times looked at as property after all, men paid dowry for a woman’s hand in marriage.
This built nothing but a very low or no self esteem in these women; they never stood up to say anything. They only sat and listened to what their husbands had to say and accepted it even when it was pressing. It was forbidden for a woman to make decisions in the families circles.
This was so unfair but even then, these women welcomed it, not because they loved it but because they believed it was culture and had to accept and better appreciate it that way.
As years went by, women begun to notice the need to stand up and be what they want to be. Women are great and strong people, at times stronger than men.
Women are great leaders and with their natural sixth sense, they become life changers. They are perfectionists; they love to work to the best of their ability in everything they do.
If you are working under the leadership of a woman who upholds her job ethics and adds that natural instinct of leadership that is God-given, trust me you have the best boss.
With the winds of women emancipation blowing across the globe, women can now access education: "When you educate a girl, you educate a nation”- we cannot disagree on this because even the blind sense it.
This has given chance to many women to rise up in places of influence as leaders. It is evident that the best of results are being produced in the areas where women are in leadership.
Thanks to the Government of Rwandan which greatly values women; women fill at least 30 percent leadership in every public institution—something unheard of in other governments.
Women are more competent than men- I know if my photo appeared on this article one would even tear it out and crease it up for the dustbin but, for the men out there you have to agree with me that women are very efficient at everything they lay hands on.
With gender equality, it has finally been noticed that women only lacked the chance to be where they were supposed to be in order to unveil their capabilities.
A strong woman should be valued because she always has very many responsibilities compared to her male counterpart but she will give her best to every detail of it.
They are great moral teachers; they will train and teach not only their children but even others in their community. They are always willing to share their knowledge for the sake of those they love and care about.
We should value the works of a women’s hand at all levels whether it be in the family or their country at large.
