This is with reference to an article that appeared in the Sunday times, of July, 24 titled; "Nsanzabaganwa Urges the Youth to save”. Allow me, through your newspaper, to acknowledge the efforts of the National Bank of Rwanda as well as other partners to put in place all necessary measures that are meant to reverse the low culture of saving especially among the youth.

If the youth are gonig to be part of the team that will stand up against such a challenge, then we should have a paradigm shift in some of our habits to be innovative and job creators rather than perennial job seekers.

The fear to start up businesses is always caused by a perceived lack of capital. Nevertheless, by the mere fact that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, one can create their little capital and later seek a supplement where necessary, rather than throwing in the towel.

Many of us have always given the excuse of earning very low income that is by its self insignificant compared to our necessities. However, life experience has shown that rarely will resources ever be seen or believed to be sufficient in order to think of starting to save. It is requires a present sacrifice for a better future. Therefore, BNR’s move should be embraced by all Rwandans.
