Jean Baptist Hakizimana is aiming to better his performances from the first three legs.

With just over two weeks before the final KCB Golf Tour in Mombasa, Rwanda’s pair of Emmanuel Ruterana and Jean Baptist Hakizimana has increased their preparations for the lucrative four-day event.

The duo has started training twice every day in a bid to make the cut in the highly competitive KCB tour-Mombasa leg scheduled to run from August 10-14.

"We have started training twice every day, in the morning and afternoon at the Nyarutarama Golf course and also doing gym work in the mornings and evenings at Serena hotel’s Gymnasium,” Hakizimana said.

Over 50 professionals from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are expected to compete in the Rwf8m tournament bankrolled by Kenya Commercial Bank.

Meanwhile, on top of offering to sponsor the golfers for the Mombasa event, the final round of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, Serena hotel has also boosted the pair with a one-year subscription at the hotel’s fitness gym.
