Etincelles get new coach, targets 2nd spot

After posting mixed fortunes in the Primus league last season, Etincelles will today unveil their new head coach and his assistant, Times Sport can reveal. According to the Secretary General of the Western Province based club Yves Nyibizi, Sogonya Hamisi and his assistant Mohammed Ntibatega will sign two year deals. Sogonya replaces Abdul Bizimana.

After posting mixed fortunes in the Primus league last season, Etincelles will today unveil their new head coach and his assistant, Times Sport can reveal.

According to the Secretary General of the Western Province based club Yves Nyibizi, Sogonya Hamisi and his assistant Mohammed Ntibatega will sign two year deals. Sogonya replaces Abdul Bizimana.

Although they made a brilliant start to the league with 5 straight wins, the club later crumbled due to financial constraints and playing in different competitions like the Orange Confederations Cup, Cecafa Cup, League and Peace cup.

Nyibizi told this paper that the club also plans be busy in the transfer market, targeting up to ten new faces to help them realize their target next season.

"We want to repeat the success of 2009/10 season. That is why we have brought in new coaches and players. Our main target is to finish second in the league and win the Peace cup,” Nyibizi said.

Etincelles finished in fourth position in the Primus league last season and were eliminated in the first round of both the Caf Confederations Cup and Cecafa/Kagame Cup.
