Editor,

I was delighted to read your lead story in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "Film is a vehicle for dev’t- Mitali. "

We must applaud the government for the support of film industry. We must also congratulate Eric Kabera, CEO and Founder of the Rwandan Cinema Centre and the newly established Kwetu Film Institute for his tremendous effort in developing the industry.

As Minister Mitali very rightly said, film is one of the components of the culture and social development of the nation.

A Hillywood - Bollywood partnership would do well and would enhance not only Rwanda’s film industry , but would also give a boost to trade , commerce , investments and even tourism from India into Rwanda.

The Indian film industry is a multi-million dollar industry and it is always looking out for new destinations to shoot the many films that are released on a very regular basis. Here is where this beautiful land , Rwanda can offer Bollywood not just a thousand hills , but more importantly, great warmth , gracious hospitality and a million smiles !

The Indian Merchants’ Chamber has a dedicated Sports, Media and Entertainment Committee and should Eric Kabera or any other Rwandan organisation be interested , we would be happy to assist in whatever way is possible.
