RWANDA Taekwondo federation will send two players at this year’s All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

National team coach Martin Koonce named David Hakizimana and Eugene Ntawangundi as the players compete in the 10th edition of the games.

Taekwondo’s inclusion takes the number of Rwanda’s sporting disciplines in Maputo to twelve.

Basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, athletics, boxing, tennis, table tennis, karate, swimming, cycling and sport for the disabled are the others.

In the last edition held in Algiers in 2007, Rwanda failed to win a medal. Dieudonne Disi came closest to the podium finish after finishing fourth in the half marathon.

The continental tournament will also be a platform for athletes to attain qualifying marks for the 2012 London Games.
