Taxi rams into shops in Muhanga

MUHANGA- A driver of a speeding commuter taxi lost control and rammed into several buildings in Muhanga, damaging property worth millions of francs.The accident took place at Nyabisindu trading centre in Nyamabuye sector, Tuesday evening.There were no passengers aboard. But three shops and the vehicle were completely destroyed.

MUHANGA- A driver of a speeding commuter taxi lost control and rammed into several buildings in Muhanga, damaging property worth millions of francs.

The accident took place at Nyabisindu trading centre in Nyamabuye sector, Tuesday evening.

There were no passengers aboard. But three shops and the vehicle were completely destroyed.

The driver of the vehicle Reg. No. RAB 893L, Morris Kibonge, escaped from the scene as residents scampered for their lives.

Witnesses said the vehicle’s conductor, who was driving the vehicle at the time was over speeding to avoid traffic police officers.

"We saw the vehicle approaching and fled for our lives. This accident has traumatised us. Thank God we saw it earlier,” Angelique Uwamariya, an eyewitness said.
