Delays in bank transfers should be addressed

Editor, I wish to express my concern over a delay by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) to process money. The bank is credited for its efficiency and many Rwandans hold it in high esteem. However, something was amiss this month when I went there to pick my money. Two weeks ago, I received some payment from a government department through BNR. However, it has now taken two weeks to be processed and dispatched to my account at KCB.

Editor,

I wish to express my concern over a delay by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) to process money. The bank is credited for its efficiency and many Rwandans hold it in high esteem. However, something was amiss this month when I went there to pick my money.

Two weeks ago, I received some payment from a government department through BNR. However, it has now taken two weeks to be processed and dispatched to my account at KCB.

The Central Bank has in the past promised that the process would take a day or two but it is now two weeks, and nothing has been done; yet there is no clear explanation on what went wrong.

On July 5, I walked into BNR, only to be told that it would be sorted out but by the end of the week, I had not received the money, thus cancelling off an important business trip.  I suspect this was a one off slip-up but I trust the management will work on it.
