Star Media to cover the whole country by 2012

Star Media, a Chinese digital television company operating a pay television service plans to connect the whole country by the year 2012.  Star Times’ Managing Director, Ken Xiz told Business Times in a recent interview that the company is committed to expanding their signal coverage across the country.

Star Media, a Chinese digital television company operating a pay television service plans to connect the whole country by the year 2012.

Star Times’ Managing Director, Ken Xiz told Business Times in a recent interview that the company is committed to expanding their signal coverage across the country.

"We are adding Rubavu and Musanze towns very soon and we are planning to expand our digital signal to 60 per cent by end of this year,” Xiz noted.

Xiz also explained that the company’s total investment will clock US$29million (Rwf17.1 billion) next year if they rollout the network to the whole country.

"In the recent past, we have concentrated on improving our signal quality, growing our investment and plan to add 10 more channels to our bouquet,” he explained.

The company plans to add more movie and sports channels .
