Communities should mobilize to tarmac neighborhood roads

Editor, I live in the Kimironko neighborhood where most of the roads are passable but would definitely prefer tarmac. When it is sunny, the dust can be sickening and during the rainy season, the mud is inconveniencing to the various road users. Through you paper, I would like to urge local leaders to mobilize residents in their neighborhoods and property owners, to pool resources and tarmac the roads. This will not only make the communities look neater, but will also make the residents more comfortable as well as increase the value of the properties.

Editor,

I live in the Kimironko neighborhood where most of the roads are passable but would definitely prefer tarmac.

There is no doubt that it is costly, however, I have seen this work in some communities and where the residents have worked out a strategy to raise the funds.
