GERMANY- On July 7, at the Rwandan embassy in Germany, Rwandans celebrated the 17th Liberation Day. Many guests, including Germans and diplomats were invited by the Rwandan Ambassador to Germany, Christine Nkulikiyinka, in order to express their solidarity with the Rwandan people.

Many guests, including Germans and diplomats were invited by the Rwandan Ambassador to Germany, Christine Nkulikiyinka, in order to express their solidarity with the Rwandan people.
Among them were the representatives of the German government, Members of Parliament, Heads of diplomatic missions, friends of Rwanda and members of the Rwandan Diaspora.
In her speech, Ambassador Nkulikiyinka said that liberation means freedom and peace. She noted that although there is still a long way to go, the achievements already made give hope for an even brighter future.
The envoy explained that the Liberation Day marks the end of a mournful period during which the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi are commemorated.
The Liberation Day, therefore, should serve as a reminder of the struggle against oppression, violence, division and stagnation, she said
