World football governing body (FIFA) boss Gianni Infantino arrived in Kigali on Monday night for the much-anticipated 73rd FIFA Congress that will take place at BK Arena on Thursday, March 16.
He is expected to chair the high-level meeting which is expected to attract about 2,000 delegates representing 211 member associations across the globe.

The FIFA Congress is the supreme legislative body of the International Association Football Federation (FIFA), the international governing body of associations of football, futsal and beach soccer.
It is during the congress when the FIFA elections will take place. Incumbent Infantino is the lone candidate for the top position after running unopposed.
He is likely to be reelected for another four-year term that could see him stay in office until 2027 should he win the vote of confidence from the body’s member associations.
A candidate is eligible for three terms and, if elected, Infantino will be serving his last term in office.
The development means the 52-year-old Swiss-Italian is on course to preside over at least three World Cups, with his upcoming third-term set to go beyond the 2026 edition, which will be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
