Editor,

The closure of some city hotels by the Ministry of Health over sanitation concerns this week is clearly a demonstration of care for the well-being of the population.

Although the proprietors and some clients may cry foul, the medical expenses people incur every time they fall sick is huge. I think sanitation should never be compromised.

Besides, the owners are always forewarned several times before health officials take action. But if they fail to meet the minimum sanitation standards. I appeal to officials to similarly  crackdown on all eating joints.
