KCB Rwanda, a subsidiary of the KCB Bank Group, will this month send some staff on a group exchange attachment program to other KCB group subsidiaries in Tanzania and Kenya for three month period.

The program was initiated in May 2011 and targets the entire KCB Bank group.

The scheme will see KCB group subsidiaries in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and South Sudan exchange staff attached to different departments and branches, where staff will swap roles in different countries where the bank operates.

KCB Rwanda’s Managing Director, Maurice K. Toroitich, said the bank will send over 10 staff to Kenya and Tanzania and similarly receive staff from the group’s other subsidiaries.

"Through this program, we intend to develop our staff insights and cultural understanding and offer more learning experiences to our staff, in order to strengthen and improve our business. Such experiences will broaden our staff capacity and the bank’s overall capabilities,” Toroitich explained.

The program is in line with the groups’ vision of becoming the preferred provider of banking solutions in Africa with a global reach, he added.

The program is scheduled to continue into 2012 and it will be conducted on a quarterly basis with the first groups swapping roles from July 2011.

Toroitich further said the key benefits of the program are to expand the individuals’ horizons and provide career development opportunities in capacity building, international experience to the staff, and transfer of skills and experiences within the group.

KCB Bank Group, the region’s leading bank in terms of assets base, now operates as a seamless one bank, branchless platform across all its operations in Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan.
