THE 2011/12 Primus league will start in September according to the country’s football governing body, Ferwafa.

The body’s Head of Competitions Felix Nzeyimana said that the league would kick off in early September although the final date has not yet been confirmed.

This will also be the penultimate season in Bralirwa’s 3-year sponsorship deal with Ferwafa. The Brewing and Soft Beverage Company signed a Rwf 335m sponsorship deal in 2009 to sponsor the league and the contract is expected to wind up after next season.

Inside sources in Ferwafa disclosed to Times Sport that Bralirwa is keen to extend the deal and that other sponsors also want to come on board.

Similar to last season, the 2011/12 league will be preceded by the pre-season Primus Cup.

APR romped to a record 12th league title last season but is expected to face stiff competition from the likes of Police, Rayon Sport and Kiyovu.
