KARONGI- As a way of taking services closer to its clients, Bank of Kigali (BK) opened up new branches in Karongi, Ruhango, Nyanza, Bugarama and Butaro.

This brings the bank’s total branch network across the country to 38. It targets 40 branches by the end of the year.

"In order to bring our financial services as close as possible to our clients, we intend to have at least a branch in each district,” said Janvier Mucyo, BK’s Marketing Manager.

Charles Remezo, the Assistant Manager of BK Karongi district branch noted that there is an impressive turn up of clients who wish to open up new accounts.

"Many people are turning up because the services we offer are widely admired,” Remezo said.

Approximately 100 new clients in Karongi opened up accounts with BK last week, he said.

The development comes as a relief to many BK clients who were regularly forced to travel long distances to either Kigali or Muhanga to access their salaries.

"At the end of every month, I would have to travel long distance to a BK branch.  But now am relieved because it will be no more,” Celestin Manzi, a client with BK said.
