The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration inform its esteemed customers who applied for their ordinary passports in the date of 01/01/2004 to 31/12/2008 that their application files have lost validity, because applicants did not solve problems found in their application files in the timeframe provided by the law.

The Ministerial Order No 03/01 of 31/05/2011 establishing regulations as published in the Official Gazette No 24 of 13/06/2011 article 26 provide that; Application file of any travel document shall have validity of two (2) years from the date the application was made. After this period, if the applicant still needs the travel document he/she shall lodge in another application.

The Director General’s Instructions provide that when a problem is found in the processing of the application, the applicant must clear up the problem before the passport is processed. If not resolved the application remain pending until it is resolved.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration request its clients who have their application file pending from 01/01/2004 to 31/12/2008 to resolve them before they loose validity. Problems will be solved where application have been lodged. The deadline for problems to be resolved is two (2) months from the day of publication of this announcement, after that period their application files will loose validity.
