Editor,

I would like commend the recent crackdown by the Ministry of Health on various eating joints found to be unhygienic.

This is a commendable move by the government as customers have been unknowingly exposed to several ailments as a result of the food they eat.

This will serve as a warning to many business premises which pay little attention to hygiene or don’t observe the required standards. It’s, therefore, important that the government continues to carry out this routine inspection.

It will save us from infections and other possible diseases that can be hazardous to people’s health.

Public places should not wait for the Ministry of Health inspectors. They should be pro-active and endeavour to have internal mechanisms that guarantee cleanliness.
