The outgoing US Ambassador recently commended Rwanda’s efforts towards fostering peace and security across its borders.

Today, Rwanda is a leader in the areas of peace and security in Africa and beyond. The country has successfully made its contribution in the international community’s quest to pacify troubled regions in several parts of the world, because of its own incredible resurgence from the ashes of the 1994 Genocide.

It is the restoration of security for all Rwandans and their property, as well as enhancement of people’s freedoms and potentials that have helped the nation forge ahead in development, and to actively partake in process to address global challenges.

Several countries and foreign communities have since benefited from Rwanda’s peacekeeping efforts.

The philosophy that security and peace are ingredients for a thriving economy holds true in Rwanda’s case. The country owes the remarkable success in almost all human endeavors to the prevailing peace and security.

Rwanda’s story offers valuable lessons that others can learn from. Let Liberation count for what it is – an era where peace, security and co-existence are the flagship of every country.
