Equity market picks up

Yesterday the market picked up as a lot of transactions were recorded on Bralirwa and KCB counters. The turnover went up significantly on RSE but the share prices closed unchanged from the previous day’s trading, closing at Rwf220, Rwf175, and Rwf1200 for Bralirwa, KCB and NMG respectively.

Yesterday the market picked up as a lot of transactions were recorded on Bralirwa and KCB counters. The turnover went up significantly on RSE but the share prices closed unchanged from the previous day’s trading, closing at Rwf220, Rwf175, and Rwf1200 for Bralirwa, KCB and NMG respectively.

A total turnover of Rwf210, 542,000 was recorded from 915,500 Bralirwa shares transacted in 19 deals and 100 KCB shares transacted in 1 deal. Bralirwa shares traded between Rwf215 and Rwf230 while KCB shares traded at Rwf175 each.

The NMG counter did not record any activity.

At the end of formal trading hours, there was an outstanding bid of 500,000 Bralirwa shares at Rwf215 and no offers. On the other hand, there were outstanding offers of 2,000 KCB shares and bids of 1,000 KCB shares at Rwf180 and Rwf175 respectively.

The Bond Market: No transactions were recorded on government bonds. At the close of business, there was a bid of Rwf100 million government bonds at 98.237 and there were no sellers.  There was no transaction on the BCR bond.
