APR are looking to maintain their perfect start in the Cecafa Kagame Cup when they take on St.George this afternoon in Group C.

The fixture is a repeat of last year’s final in Kigali, were the army side edged the Ethiopians 2-1 to lift a fourth regional title.

In the build up to the tournament, the defending champions criticized Cecafa for drawing the two sides in the same group.

APR march into today’s game in confident mood after thrashing Ports of Djibouti 4-0 in their opening match on Sunday. And with St.George and Ulinzi settling for a 1-all draw, APR went top of the group with three points, two ahead of Ulinzi and St. George.
Ulinzi play Ports in the other Group C tie.

In Group B, Ugandan champions Bunamwaya take on El-Mereikh of Sudan while Tanzania’s Yanga play Elman of Somalia.

Bunamwaya thrashed Elman 4-0 in their opening game while Yanga were held to a goalless draw by El-Mereikh.

This year’s edition attracted 13 teams and they include Ports, Yanga, Simba, APR, Etincelles, El-Mereikh, Red Sea, Ocean View, Bunamwaya, St.George, Ulinzi, Elman and Burundi’s Vital O’.
