APRED Ndera beat Rusumo High School and Groupe Scolaire Butare at Mumena grounds to make it to the final of the ongoing schools rugby 15s tournament.

Led by former U-14 Touraid participant Brian Natete Shema, the current defending champions waltzed through Rusumo High to end the game at 34-3.

The next game however was no easy cake as the Southerners held their ground settling for a 14-5 loss.

The school from Ndera, a suburb of Kigali, coached by its alumni and current national team captain, Vincent Kamali, has by far had the best rugby display on its way to the final. Last week, they beat Nyamirambo’s St.Andre 61-3.

Against Rusumo, Steven Kwizera scored four tries while captain Shema converted all the tries.

Over twenty schools are taking part in the countrywide tournament. The final against Lycee de Ruhango is set for this Saturday in Gitarama.
