Editor,

This letter is with reference to your article in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled” Liberation Day is time to reflect - Ministers. "

As Rwanda gears up to celebrate Liberation Day on July 4, it is very rightly said , a time to reflect on where the nation was immediately after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and where this great nation has reached today.

Congratulations to President Paul Kagame and the Government of Rwanda , on the 17 th Anniversary of Liberation Day , for having effectively steered the country, completely devastated after the Genocide , out of turmoil and for bringing her to an enviable position among the nations of the world.

Rwanda , though not a former British colony, is now even a member of the Commonwealth .

This endorses the immense faith and confidence which has been reposed in the President and his Government.

I wish President Kagame , his Government and all Rwandans whether they live in the country or any where in the world Happy Liberation Day !
