It’s now a few years down the road since the East African Community was formulated. It was basically put in place to chatter for the flow of goods and services in the East African region in the name of development. However, it has not left the Education system at the same level.

I understand that the next academic year begins around September the following year, the National University of Rwanda has decided to begin the 2011 academic year in July come Monday 4th July, 2011.
This means that the 2011 intake is to begin a few weeks from now.
On the same note, the students who accomplished their National Examinations last year in 2010 are to commence with their studies come July. After offering scholarships to more than 5,000 students due to the high performance that was portrayed in the 2010 National Examinations, the National University of Rwanda has stipulated several faculties and schools which the scholarship beneficiaries are to attend.
These include the Faculties of; Medicine, Agriculture, Arts, Media and Social Sciences, Law, Economics and Management and the Schools of Public Health and Foundational Language skill.
Putting in mind that time wasted is never gained; concerned students should be encouraged to start on time because it’s always the early bird that catches the worm.
