The new immigration law will attract investors

Editor, I totally concur with the Immigration and Emigration Director General, Anaclet Kalibata that the new law, No 04/2011 of 21/03/2011 will attract more investors and spur development of our country. Rwanda has had several reforms in a bid to attract skilled workforce, promote investment and tourism and the new law is, surely a major added factor.

Editor,

I totally concur with the Immigration and Emigration Director General, Anaclet Kalibata that the new law, No 04/2011 of 21/03/2011 will attract more investors and spur development of our country.

Rwanda has had several reforms in a bid to attract skilled workforce, promote investment and tourism and the new law is, surely a major added factor.

The fact that the new law allows investors in sectors such as agriculture, ICT, animal husbandry, mining, hospitality industry, manufacturing amongst others to be issued with a three year temporary resident permit is indeed praiseworthy.

Therefore, it is up to the investors to grab this notable opportunity immediately. I am happy to learn that the law which is also aligned with the EAC Protocol on free movement of people and labour will provide investors with an opportunity to visit Rwanda and stay for a six month period without a visa. While in Rwanda, investors would be able to explore investment opportunities.
