Rwanda, Singapore to strengthen ICT ties

The Minister in the office of the President in charge of ICT, Dr. Ignace Gatare, together with his Singaporean counterpart, Yaacob Ibrahim, yesterday, held a meeting in which they both pledged to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.The two leaders mainly agreed to focus on the promotion of ICT.

The Minister in the office of the President in charge of ICT, Dr. Ignace Gatare, together with his Singaporean counterpart, Yaacob Ibrahim, yesterday, held a meeting in which they both pledged to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders mainly agreed to focus on the promotion of ICT.

The commitment by the two Ministers was made on the sidelines of the 7th ICT Ministerial Forum held in Singapore which Dr. Gatare attended.

Some of the priority areas identified in the bilateral meeting included e-Government, ICT capacity building and skills development, media development as well as financial services like e-Banking.

The Minister also visited and held discussions with various private companies and public agencies involved in Information and Communication Technology and broadcasting in the South East Asia country.
