On Saturday, June 18, all roads lead to Musanze District in the Northern Province of Rwanda, for the annual Kwita Izina - Gorilla naming ceremony.

Local artistes Kitoko, Miss JoJo, Dream Boyz and Rafiki will perform alongside renowned Ugandan Reggae star Bebe Cool at the foot of the Virunga Mountain.

Kwita Izina, the uniquely Rwandan event which translates ‘to give a name’, was introduced in 2005 with the aim of creating awareness for the conservation of the endangered mountain gorillas. The event also highlights Rwanda as an excellent tourist destination.

Each year, the ceremony attracts thousands of local, regional and international visitors.
