PGGSS contestants honour Genocide victims

PRIMUS Guma Guma Superstar (PGGSS) contestants, on Tuesday, visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to pay their respects to over 300,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, interred there.

Bralirwa’s Promotions and Events Manager, Patrick Samputu, said the visit aimed at enlightening the artistes of the happenings during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and let them know the reality.

"The company is committed to the country’s development, not only in business, but also in peace building,” Samputu said.

He added: "Artistes are influential people, so we urge them to use their fame to prevent genocide ideologies and to help the youth contribute to the country’s development.”

The contestants have been taking part in various social activities. Last month, they visited Kanombe Military Hospital in Kigali and, also participated in the community service – Umuganda.

Primus Guma Guma Superstar is organised by Bralirwa in partnership with the East Africa Promoters. According to the organisers, the competition is designed to bring together the best of Rwandan artistes and engage the whole nation in an exciting and energetic musical journey.

The winner will walk away with Rwf6 million, perform live with Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston on July 30 and, fly with the star to the U.S to record a song and its video.

Meanwhile, the contestants’ fate is in the hands of the Rwandan music-loving public who shall vote in the winner. Below are the Top 10 contestants and their respective voting codes:
