The classteacher hit my head, I won’t go to school

Daddy do you know what? Today I won’t go to school. Yesterday Mr. John the class teacher asked me a question and I failed to answer it. He then knocked me hard on my head.

It is not the first time for Mr. John to beat me; he is fond of beating children in class for no good reason. I will not go to school unless you go with me and ask him why he always beat children in class.

Some days ago, Mr. John beat our class monitor until she bled. She was beaten because she had refused sweep our classroom.

Daddy I am afraid because if I happen to do another wrong, he will beat me to death. He is not child friendly, most pupils in my class fear him too. They always feel uncomfortable when he is teaching.

My prayer is that he gets another class where he will be teaching or finds a new school far from Kigali were most of us will not be able to see him.

Daddy, I know you may not accept what I am saying but if you want a proof, let us go together at school and you ask my classmates one by one.

You will get to know other children testimonies which are worse than mine. Many of these children have never told their parents about the bad teacher. Most parents do not believe in what their children tell them.

I have got enough courage of telling you this, daddy, because you have always listened to me and respected my request. I will Thank you so many daddy if you go with me to school and talk to Mr. John’s case.
