Editor,

Efforts by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the government of Democratic Republic of Congo to arrest Genocide suspect, Bernard Munyagishari, last month is a demonstration that impunity has no place in the region and the world as a whole.

The DRC is no longer a safe haven for criminals. I urge leaders in the region to continue helping Rwanda and arrest all criminals hiding in their countries.

Some members of the Rwandan rebel group FDLR are still holed up in jungles of DRC. However, the recent move by the Congolese government against such Rwandan criminals is praiseworthy.

Reports indicate that some Genocide suspects continue to freely operate businesses in the region after changing their identities. Let us work together to seize tainted individuals to rid our region of impunity.
