Karen Ndenzi Uwera vows to spread the gospel through music

SINCE an early age, Karen Ndenzi Uwera has always desired to serve God and spread the gospel through music.

Uwera grew up from a Christian family and it seemed so obvious that she would be influenced by her upbringing to become a gospel artiste.

"I grew up in a Christian family, with strong Christian values,” Uwera said.

She divulged: "At secondary (school), I was the assistant leader of our band Young Kingdom Builders. I started serving God when I was still very young until today.”

Born July 4, 1982, in the Ugandan Capital of Kampala, Uwera attended Nakasero Primary School Kampala and secondary school at Kigali International Academy, now known as Kagarama Secondary School.

Uwera, 29, holds a diploma in Marketing from Makerere Business Institute (MBI) – Uganda.

The singer-songwriter has set her sights firmly on the gospel scene and already has three songs to her credit, with two more in the studio.

In addition to her busy career, Uwera founded a company, Eagle’s Eye International Ltd, which deals in advertising and marketing, among others.

She is a member of Healing Centre Church worship team based at Remera, Kigali.

Uwera says music is her passion and her vision is to spread the gospel to the international lever through music.
