Editor,

I wish our National team, Amavubi, the best in the forthcoming 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier fixture against Burundi.

I strongly believe that our team, a mix of young and energetic players as well as experienced professionals, could qualify for the tournament to be hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

I am quite certain that if we advance beyond the qualifiers and group stages, we can finally qualify for CAN 2012 with a much better team, given the new crop of players coming through the ranks.

My conviction is that the young players in the U17 and U21 teams will have matured in time to represent the country at the continental level. The future is bright for Rwandan football.

For now though, our focus should be on the next game against Burundi and then the group stages. Our team needs the full backing of everyone in terms of support and prayers. Let’s all rally behind our boys on Sunday.
